Make Money on the Internet Using Affiliate Marketing
For many website owners who do not have a product or service of their own to sell, it can be hard to make money online. Sure, you could sell advertising space, but unless you attract a large amount of traffic to your site, nobody will pay you a pretty penny to have you advertise their site. So, you dont have any product or service to sell and advertising wont bring in an income worth celebrating over. What do you do now? The solution is simple: Affiliate Marketing.
Affiliate marketing is a simple concept and millions of websites rely on affiliate marketing to bring in the bulk of their sales. Basically, you try and sell other people's products for a commission. Commission can be anywhere from 5 to 75 percent of the price of the product. Generally speaking, your software, information products, and services provide the highest rate of commission. It's easy finding products in those categories that provide 50 to 75 percent commission!
The most effective way to convert your traffic to sales is to make sure that the products and services you are advertising on your website target your visitors. If your site deals with automobiles, trying to market someone else's cook book will fail and if I could take a bet, generate zero income.
Another helpful tip is to make sure your advertisement doesn't look like an advertisement. People do not visit your site to pay any attention to the banner ads placed everywhere. They visit your site for information on what you provide. If your site deals with online dating, write several reviews on different online dating services out there on the Internet with links to the services.
So exactly how does this work? How do these people know that you are the one responsible for the sales lead and not somebody else? When you sign up as an affiliate for different products and services, you are given a special link to place on your website. When one of your visitors clicks your link, the website you are refering visitors to knows that the visitor came from your site. Then, if the visitor purchases that website's product or service, you are credited for the sale and earn the commission.
When looking for a product to market as an affiliate, visit some websites selling products or services that relate to your website's information. Many of these sites will have affiliate programs and have a link placed on their site with information on how you can sign up to be an affiliate with them.
Affiliate marketing along with selling advertising on your website (check out Google Adsense) is an amazing and very profitable way of generating income for your site. It cost nothing and there is no inventory to keep. It's all pure profit. What could be better?

Blogging For Internet Newbies
Blogs means different things to different people: to journalists they are unofficial sources of information, to the ordinary Joe they are an Online diary or forum, to repressive governments they are subversive and a threat and to the Internet marketer they are a marketing tool! Starting as humble “Web Logs” kept by Internet Geeks, blogs have moved fast to occupy center ground. A good example of what a professional quality blog can look like is Jim Edward’s blog http://www.igottatellyou.com/blog/ This is not a diary entry this is entertainment! Jim Edwards is an experienced journalist and user of multi media. But Newbies can learn some great lessons from this site. The obvious thing is that Jim Edwards character jumps off the page! You can do this. You have a character too! You have interests, passions, obsessions even! And why would Jim Edwards provide first class information and entertainment at no cost? Because you will keep going to his blog and you will learn about the books Jim has written. Maybe you would even buy one! Very nice “un-pushy” advertising. The importance of Blogs to the Newbie will take a while to become clear. For now I just want to say that a blog is a website. You can enter whatever text you desire, pictures too! You can allow other people to contribute if you want (I’d recommend against that unless you review and moderate the content!) For anyone who is nervous about building a website or about getting content for a Newsletter or eZine, having a blog is a perfect practise tool to build up confidence and material How to get started Internet Newbies who wish to start Blogging must first find Blogging software. The three main varieties of blog software are 1. Blogger, free and very easy technically 2. Wordpress, free ( and priceless as Wordpress fans remark ! ) 3. Typepad, monthly charge 4. Squarespace, monthly charge We will use the free one – Blogger. which is very “Newbie friendly” First visit Blogger http://www.blogger.com/home You find yourself at what I call the front page of Blogger and what Blogger calls “The Dashboard”. Now use the “Create a Blog” button. You are then asked for a Title or name for the blog and then a web name. The name should reflect the desired subject matter of your blog and the web name is probably going to be shorter and conform to the usual rules – no spaces etc. Mostly people Blog either by going to http://www.blogger.com/home and entering their password and username clicking on New Post and just typing straight in or by downloading the Google Tool Bar with the little orange Blogger button. To get this, go to Google.com and click on the “more” link on the right. You will find the little orange Blogger button and can download it and install it. You may have the Google Toolbar already. In Internet Explorer, click on View and then on Toolbars, if you see Google there tick it and use it, otherwise you need to download it. The exact details may depend on the version of Windows you have etc. After opening an account at Blogger jot down a few notes, Remember this is a website, the whole world will be able to read it so don’t put anything in it that you might regret! Happy Blogging! If you want to build a business on the Web Blogging is a good place to start. You get used to writing and when you click the little orange “Blogger” button your words will be “live on the internet”. Before we end this “Newbie Guide To Blogging” lets just comment on Adsense. When you sign up for a Blogger blog you will be able to add “Adsense” to the blog. This is a clever form of advertising and in principle can earn you money when a reader clicks on one of the Ads”. If you have a high traffic blog with thousand of visitors per month it is true that income from such advertising can be substantial – earning hundreds or even thousands of dollars. For the Newbie Adsense is just a distraction in my view and is not likely to earn a substantial income. If you can use a blog and add to it regularly and build an archive of content you may soon be ready to think of putting a website together and that for most people is much more lucrative.
How to Make Money From Your Website
Are you a webmaster and don't know how to make a profit with your website? Or do you want to create a site but don't know how to get started?
If you fit in the latter, here's a few suggestions:
- Choose a topic for your site. Preferably, you should choose a topic that you are familiar with and that you enjoy. The worst thing you can do is choose a topic you are not comfortable with and your site will suffer. So, if you are an avid fisher, why not create a site about fishing? If you love music, create a music site.
- Choose a reliable host. There are tons to choose from. We suggest that you do your research, and remember, Google is your friend. Be sure to Google every hosting company you are considering. Read what others have to say about them. You might even find good deals in the process.
- When choosing a host, be sure to buy the correct hosting package. Importantly, monthly bandwidth and diskspace. For small sites, it's safe to purchase a package with 5-10 gigabytes worth of monthly bandwidth. Similarly, be sure the hosting package provides enough disk space for your site to grow and expand. 200 megabytes of space should be sufficient for small sites.
- The key to any successful site is content. Try provide original and interesting content that people would actually need and/or read. Copying and pasting content from another source doesn't cut it, and you could be infringing copyright laws. Be creative.
How Do I Make Money?
After your site has been developed, it's time to make some money. There are various ways of doing so. The most common ways are through direct sales and advertising.
If you have something to sell that is related to your site's topic, sell it on your site! For example, if you have a fishing site, why not sell fishing poles, bait, or hooks?
But what if you have nothing to sell? Then why not sell yourself! If you have a skill that you can provide to others, why not offer it? If your site is about webdesign, why not offer a service where you design sites for customers? If you have a knitting site and can knit yourself, why not offer knitting services?
What if you have don't have merchandise or a service to sell? Then the most popular method of generating a profit through your website is by selling advertising space. There are several affiliate programs that will "buy" space on your site for you to display banners in various sizes. Most of these companies pay monthly and are a good source of steady income. AdSense Sites: Can Beginners Make Money with AdSense Sites?
If you are in Internet marketing or have been reading the ads all over the Internet about how to make money from your website you can't have missed all the talk of AdSense. This is one of Google's main revenue generators and over the few years it has been around has made quite a few early adopters a lot of money. Google makes a percentage of the cost of the ads and the website owner where the ads show up makes the remaining percentage. The AdSense ads are actually the ads placed through Google's AdWords Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising program. Unfortunately as with all good things it seems, the money making potential seems to have diminished for the majority of those trying to make a go of AdSense as a viable money maker. That is not to say you can't make money off the AdSense program, it's just not as easy as it apparently was. Unfortunately I was not one of those who made good money off AdSense ads. Regardless of all the ads promoting really big money from AdSense and the fact that there are still people collecting big profits from it, let's look at it through the eyes of someone just getting into the program in earnest. Someone like many of us that do not have a large source of traffic, or maybe even no traffic to sites we want to add AdSense to. In many cases we might have sites made specifically to be monetized with AdSense. Is it worthwhile to have sites specifically designed to make its income from AdSense ads? I say sites because it is not logical to think someone with a site that does not yet have a huge amount of traffic to believe they can make lots of money from a single site with AdSense on it. Not going into details, the Google AdSense program is where a website owner has joined the AdSense program and allows Google to place AdSense ads on their website. When a visitor to the website clicks on an AdSense ad the website owner makes a few cents to many dollars from that click. How much you make is dependent on several factors such as the market the ad is trying to capture clicks from, the efficiency of the ad, the keywords the ad is focusing on and other factors. Certain types of ads almost always pay more per click than others. Insurance, loans, and finance ads pay a lot more than an ad for garden tools or gift baskets or paper plates, etc. would pay. Real Life Example I decided to give AdSense a try and see if I could make an average of $5 a day from a site designed to be monetized with AdSense ads. The sites are essentially sites with articles on them based on the theme of the site. I wrote some of the articles but purchased most of them. Articles to be added to the sites in the future will be mostly purchased due to lack of time to write articles myself. They are the content of the sites. The sites are mostly written in html, although I do have a few that are php coded sites. On the pages with the articles are the AdSense ads, usually three blocks of ads on a page. The sites are small with most being about nine to 15 pages total. Adding articles on a regular basis will slowly build up the sites over time which is what the search engines want to see. I started with twenty new AdSense sites and three older blog sites I already had, plus two new portal sites that had no traffic going to them. All sites were monetized with AdSense. The AdSense sites cost nothing, but the few articles on each site cost about eight dollars each. Articles can cost from about twenty-five cents to fifteen dollars or more depending on the source and quality. The lower cost articles require considerable rewriting so as not to cause your article to be considered a duplicate article and incur a so-called duplicate content penalty. Allowing for placing five articles a month on a site plus some miscellaneous costs like hosting, domain name, software, and potential maintenance costs, a fifty dollar monthly cost per site is incurred. Yes you could write all or most of the articles yourself, but that is not practical if you have many sites and is very time consuming. So I am discounting that solution as impractical if you have many sites. So to break even on these types of AdSense sites each site needs to make about $50 a month. That’s an average of $1.70 a day. A measly $1.70 a day, that should be easy for a site to make. Maybe it is, but it is heavily dependent on the traffic to the site and the corresponding clicks on the AdSense ads that result from it. To put things in perspective, look at the results of my twenty AdSense sites, three blogs, and two portal sites. All sites except the three older sites have been up slightly over three months. I started getting a few links to each site just this past month. Real Life Terrible Results Only last month did I start getting links to any of the sites. I am averaging about $1 a day from all twenty-five sites together. That’s about $25 a month total, far less than break even cost. I just checked today and have made $50.55 for this current month, month four for most sites. That's about one twenty-fifth of what I need to break even for the sites. Half the money came from the twenty AdSense sites, with the rest from the other five sites. There are still two more days left in this month. I believe the results will continue to improve as long as I add articles and get links to the sites. It is a long way to go until the sites break even, if they ever do, so I am not holding my breath. Although these results are terrible, in my opinion, it must be mentioned that I am doing this part-time and only recently has there been an effort to get links to the sites. If it had been a full-time effort (and it could easily have been) then the results would seem even worse. I have totally ignored the effort (which has been considerable) in getting the sites up and working properly, correcting and adding the articles and revising the links for each new article I added to the site. I do have software that would easily generate such sites, but decided not to use it due to leaving footprints and having the sites considered spam sites by Google or the other two top search engines. From the looks of it right now it's too early to make an accurate judgment as to whether the sites will be worthwhile. I tend to think the effort is too great the way my sites are set up now and the cost of the articles too high to make a decent long term profit. I figure I need to revise how the articles are added and probably get the cost of the articles down a lot more, to less than half what I am paying now to have a fair chance to break even, let along make a profit. Is AdSense Worthwhile for Beginners? So the question, can beginners make money with AdSense sites cannot be answered yet with any accuracy from my results so far. On the surface it appears the answer is no, not if following my route. Only if extraordinary amounts of traffic can be obtained does it look like my sites will make any decent money from AdSense. Probably another, a better approach, will be necessary and a lot more pages with AdSense ads on it will be required to be able to make any significant money. I suspect I will need at least 50 to 100, or more, articles per site to have a fair chance of creating a small part-time equivalent income from the sites. If you consider an average cost of six dollars for an article, and that is a very low cost for a new article, and still the same five articles a month, with just half the estimated ten dollars monthly miscellaneous costs being only five dollars, the thirty-five dollar monthly cost per site still is difficult to conceive making even that much from the poor results experienced so far. Only time will tell whether the effort will be worthwhile. I am already changing my html sites so they will be easier and faster to add the new articles. Unfortunately that may cause me to effectively start over with my AdSense earnings since the links will be different and any pages already indexed will have to be re-indexed again since I am changing the sites little by little to php sites. I did something similar several months ago to a single larger site and even months later over 500 of those original pages were still indexed even though they had been off the site for many months. If you agree it's difficult for a beginner to make money with AdSense or if you have made a worthwhile AdSense profit in a short time period please enter your opinion on www.cackel.com if you would like to share your success or failure. I would like to see other views on this topic, especially those who have made a decent return on non-directory type AdSense sites within a reasonably short period of time
Make Money With Goggle Adsense
AdSense may be one of the fastest and easiest ways to monetize traffic to your web site whether you have products or services for sale or you simply provide free content to your visitors.
Simply stated, Google AdSense enables website operators to place some code on their site that connects to Google’s ad server content database and pulls keyword-relevant advertising onto the web pages. The webmaster gets paid a percentage of the fee that Google receives from the advertiser every time a visitor clicks on an ad. There is no charge for the webmaster to participate in AdSense. All costs are covered by the advertiser who participates in the AdSense sister program called AdWords.
Google’s sends out digital “robots” which use proprietary algorithms to parse the host web page and analyze the content in an effort to determine what keywords are relevant. It reports its findings back to Google’s ad server which then serves ads matching those keywords. Given that the entire process is automated, the “ad robots” do a pretty good job of getting the advertising content right most of the time.
The History of Google AdSense
Google AdSense has its roots in the old “Google Content-Targeted Advertising” program which they introduced back in March of 2003. Although this program was similar in concept to AdSense, there was no automated way of participating. Each webmaster negotiated a deal directly with Google, and websites that served less than 20 million page views per month were not welcome to participate.
As Google grew, they began to see how much money they were leaving on the table by excluding the smaller sites, which greatly outnumbered the sites serving over 20 million hits that were willing to serve other people’s ads. Their answer to that problem was AdSense which has no minimum traffic requirements and is open to all sites meeting Google’s content and decency requirements.
How much can you make running Google AdSense?
The answer to that question depends upon three factors:
1. How much traffic your site draws
2.How many visitors click on your ads
3.How much those ads pay per generated click
With some ads paying as much as $5 or more, it’s possible that you can generate a serious income with AdSense. There are relatively well documented cases of some people earning as much as $500 per DAY and more. Numbers like that are rare exceptions however. Even so, there is no reason why you can’t earn somewhere around $1,000 per month, or more, once you get the hang of it.
How to get started using Google AdSense
Make a visit to Google’s AdSense Site (http://www.google.com/adsense/) and sign up. Make sure that you read their Acceptable Use Policy and that you follow their content requirements. Google has their own “AdSense Police” who will have no problem booting you out of the program if you fail to walk the line.
Using Google AdSense on your site is like collecting free money. There’s no reason not to do it and potentially thousands of dollars worth of reasons to do it.

Improve Your Google AdSense Ad Relevancy with Section Targeting
A little known method to increase the relevancy of AdSense's ads on your site without modifying your content visually is by forcing AdSense to focus on or ignoring certain sections. This is called "section targeting." Section targeting allows you to suggest sections of your text and HTML content that you'd like Google AdSense to emphasize or downplay when matching ads to your site's content. By providing Google AdSense with your suggestions, you can assist Google AdSense in improving your ad targeting. Although implementation is easy, I recommend that only those familiar with HTML attempt to implement section targeting. To implement section targeting, you'll need to add a set of special HTML comment tags to your code. These tags will mark the beginning and end of whichever section(s) you'd like to emphasize or de-emphasize for ad targeting. The HTML tags to emphasize a page section take the following format: You can also designate sections you'd like to have ignored by adding a (weight=ignore) to the starting tag: With these tags added to your HTML code, your final code may look like the following: Section targeting Irrelevant text here This is the most important content of your webpage. You prefer Ads being shown related to this content. Other irrelevant or low-paying keyword-content here You can use section targeting to make suggestions about as many sections of a page as you like. However, please be aware that Google AdSense can't guarantee results, and that it may take up to 2 weeks before Google's crawlers take any changes you've made to your site into account. In order to properly implement this feature, you'll need to include a significant amount of content within the section targeting tags. Including insufficient content may result in less relevant ads or Public Service Ads. In addition, please keep in mind that this feature should only be used to emphasize significant sections of your site's relevant content. It is against Google AdSense's program policies to manipulate the ad targeting to result in ads that are not relevant to the content of your pages. So the bottom line is to use section targeting wisely. This means you do not wrap a single sentence or even a medium-sized paragraph in section targeting tags. One real-life example that I've used myself in the past is ignoring menus. NOTE that Google AdSense ignoring your menus does NOT mean Google's Crawler will so no worries there. I had a menu section with links to articles on a huge variety of topics. Most topics were totally unrelated to the specific page / article. Since I wanted ads to be relevant to the currently viewed article, I wrapped my menu in ignore tags and wrapped my article in ad_section targeting tags. After a few weeks, my Google AdSense ads did become much more relevant and I didn't see the random ads that were related to the topics in my menu anymore!
Google Adsense And ClickBank Pay Per Click Ads
One of the biggest trends over the last few years has been the explosion of websites built to take advantage of the Google AdSense system. And when someone clicks on the AdSense ads that you display, a few cents tumble into your account. If you have sites earning money with AdSense you'll know why it is such a good idea. Then there’s ClickBank. The hottest and most well known affiliate programs network. ClickBank is one of the major players in affiliate marketing online and show every sign of growing in popularity, strength and power in the market. Clickbank has been around for years and has earned an excellent reputation online. They work as a payment processor and an affiliate program all rolled into one. Now the most obvious fact with Google AdSense is that you have no idea how much you will get paid for each ad clicked. And while you can get occasional clicks worth a dollar or more, most bring you only a few cents. A more detailed version of this subject can be obtained by going here http://www.worldwidewebinformationcentral.com Now if you find that the promise of making hundreds of dollars a day from displaying pay-per-click ads on your website is falling short of expectations, why not try an alternate method, that could double, triple, or even quadruple your website revenue ? So, why settle for this handful of cents for each click that turned into a referral for someone else, when those same clicks can be potential sales for a product that would pay YOU 50, 60 or even 75% in commission? To explain this in detail - if one of your visitors clicks on an ad on your site and ends up buying a $47 eBook, imagine how much better it will feel to get a commission of up to $30 rather than the few cents that you'd normally get for your efforts. Besides, Clickbank marketplace includes over 10,000 eBooks and other downloadable products on all kinds of subjects, that anyone with a free ClickBank® account can sell or promote to make substantial commissions of up to 75% . Clickbank also has a built in affiliate program and they provide you with sales and commissions reports and will send you pay cheques twice per month. But unfortunately, what Clickbank does not have, is a "user interface" department. This is where CBengine comes in. CBengine is one of the most powerful ways to monetize your website.
